This Privacy Policy explains how SnoreSense ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. The app is designed so that your recordings and sleep data stay on your own device. By downloading or using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
When you start a measurement, the app uses your device's microphone to detect and record snoring sounds. Short audio clips of detected snoring, together with sound-level and time data, are stored locally on your device only. This audio is never uploaded to any server, and the developer never receives or has access to it.
The app displays advertisements using Google AdMob. Third-party vendors, including Google, use device identifiers and cookies to serve and measure ads based on a user's prior activity. For this purpose Google may collect and process data such as your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID), general device information, IP address, and app-interaction data. This processing is performed by Google's SDK, not by the developer. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's own policies:
You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings, or via Google Ads Settings. On Android you can also reset or delete your Advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Where required by applicable law, the app presents a consent request (Google's UMP consent form) on first launch, so you can choose whether personalized ads are used. You can change or withdraw this choice at any time through the ad settings prompt in the app.
All measurements, snore clips, statistics, and tags are stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. They remain until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app. To limit storage use, the app may automatically remove the oldest saved audio clips over time; session summaries and statistics are kept. The developer does not operate any server that stores your personal data.
The app is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
